Youthful innocence and ignorance are limited excuses, you\u2019d be remiss to let \u2018em slide,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Be a parent, Mom and Dad, it\u2019s your duty to guide \u2018em through this life,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some days might get ugly, they may hate you for it at times,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They shout \u201cI hate you\u201d or \u201cI\u2019m running away\u201d when you teach \u2018em right from wrong? Don\u2019t take it serious, ain\u2019t nothing but sticks and stones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Peep at those that treat their own like lil\u2019 buddies,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Won\u2019t ever be the \u2018bad cop\u2019, tell \u2018em \u2018no\u2019, \u2018can\u2019t do that\u2019 or even when to stop,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Any semblance of order is stifling, they say, to sort them out tantamount to abuse,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then their wee ones turn into monsters while they smile and gush about their cuteness,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No laughing matter when monsters grow to be menaces to society, lacking empathy, accountability and personal responsibility,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s the price paid for being too afraid to step up when it\u2019s needed, congrats, Mom and Pops, y\u2019all had a job and ya blew it,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now comes \u2018life\u2019 to fix \u2018em the way you never could,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It takes no prisoners, won\u2019t let \u2018em get away with murder, you left \u2018em high and dry, now they\u2019ll face the consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Teachers ain\u2019t paid to mind \u2018em, and why leave that to strangers?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It always starts at home, do your damn job and raise \u2018em,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Know when to be their pal but also when to exercise authority,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pull them in before they fall, that is your responsibility,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sooner or later they\u2019ll understand that there was method to the strictness,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maybe when they\u2019re raising the next generation, using the very methods you\u2019d all but patented,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s the greatest job in the world, parenting, the best you\u2019ll ever have,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
