Yours was charmed to say the least, you\u2019d surely won the lottery,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Spared from life\u2019s miseries, all was fine and dandy, mostly,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Roof overhead, food on the table, clothes on your back, you had all that,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Playtime, gaming and cartoons outside of school, had you a chest full of toys, felt luckier than other boys, you were that dude,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Books by the ton, messing about with your homies, trips to Wonderland, interstate then overseas, Disneyland during early teens,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Those prime years, eighth, ninth and tenth, the definition of carefree, keeping your room clean and your grades pristine seemed your only responsibilities,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thank God Mom and Pops cared, went out their way to raise you good and proper,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a lad you wouldn\u2019t have known but it wasn\u2019t easy keeping the foundations strong,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now that you\u2019re full grown you learn the truth all along, the good life born out of love from your grown folks,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They say one only wants what\u2019s best for their little ones, give \u2018em what they never had coming up,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yours kept you out of Struggle Street, from all forms of trouble and corruption, moved you to a land of opportunities, to a life idyllic and hassle-free,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Though they played around with ya, when they weren\u2019t keeping you in line, surely life\u2019s stresses were never far, dawdling in the backs of their minds,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They, too, shared the good times, looking back, also, with a shared fondness,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But while you got the lion\u2019s share, they enjoyed only half or less,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Couldn\u2019t have asked for better, really, you gotta hand it to \u2018em,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Should the day come that you don their boots, hopefully, you\u2019ll do your best, too,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So you best keep \u2018em in your prayers, walk with \u2018em during their sunset, surely their sacrifices were worth it,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
