Might have been Unc\u2019s, never did meet the owner,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Good time had by all, bonded with a select few at the ball,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Came from humble beginnings, the type that first-world dwellers couldn\u2019t comprehend, a brand of desperation that would send the mind spinnin\u2019,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So ends the first act, a brief intermission is in order before the next one, let\u2019s see how it unfolds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After a brief haze the picture clears, no static, just cut to the next scene,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The setting remains the same but there lies a soon-to-be-shocking change,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Still there with the fam, a few extended making an appearance,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But those street cats that I done chopped it with, some are missing in action,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Went out for a breather, from the corner spotted him a few yards,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wondered why he ain\u2019t inside, fuck it, went to see if he\u2019d like to trade barbs,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Suddenly, from out his pocket, dude pulled out his piece,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cocked and ready to roll, pointed it straight at me,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018Gimme your money,\u2019 said he, looked like a scene from a hood film,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Slowly reached for the wallet, slowly drew it out, hoping he\u2019d soften his stance, alas he remained on guard,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hurled it at his mug as a distraction tactic, before trying to kick that heater from his grip,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Didn\u2019t go too far, the trigger finger proved too quick,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One shot was all it took, straight to the kisser,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A final vision of blue sky, quickly snapped into noir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Woke up in bed, wide-eyed panting like a thirsty canine,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018twas but a dream, shaken and stirred at what had transpired,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Found my legs eventually, slowly stood tall, feeling the earth move like Martika, not good at all,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Melted over to the sink, cold water ought to do the trick,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Staring blankly the mirror, suddenly feeling weaker,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Blood draining, eyes rolling, stiffened then hit the floor, the old boy knew no more, just like in that dream from the night before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Woke up once more, this time in the present, had to pinch myself first, a new day has started,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A nightmare within another, definitely a first, questions and interpretations swirling, the mind fit to burst,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Struggling to comprehend the meaning, unsure if I want to proceed,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hoping this ain\u2019t some premonition of a grisly fate that awaits me,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Or perhaps the a product of watching one too many action and gangsta flicks,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Guess I got lost in \u2018em, like it was part of someone else\u2019s script,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So far, ain\u2019t nothing happened to trigger a fight or flight,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
