So it makes sense, those claims that it\u2019s folly to tie it to\nthat which one has little to no say,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Easy to pin it onto others, places, things and accomplishments\nthat add colour to one\u2019s days,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But upon closer inspection seems like a dangerous game to\nplay,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No matter where you\u2019re at, whether flying high or struggling\nbelow, born into privilege or languishing in the struggle,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There\u2019s much to be grateful for, happiness has a trigger,\npeep at your surroundings, delve into the attic,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If necessary take the initiative and go on searching,\nprovided you\u2019re prepared for serious grinding, good luck with the pursuit, hope\nyou gets yours too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019ll be happy if I get this or that, him or her\u201d, the\nphrase been thrown around,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Likely had escaped your lips, nothing to hang your head\nabout,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Delaying gratitude in ways misguided, going all in on what\u2019s\nbeyond control,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Odds of victory at fifty-fifty, most of life\u2019s offerings\ntemporary, why rely on uncertainties?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Why give your power onto others? You certain they won\u2019t\nfumble that bag? They can prattle sweet nothings \u2018til the sun is setting, they\nmay jump ship and leave you wondering, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The one you run with, exchange rings with becomes the one\nyou fight and disagree with, ride endless rollercoasters with, the one you go\nto the end with or part ways with, care to put all your eggs in that basket?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maybe a certain status or place is the way to go, on paper\nlooks a sure winner, but that\u2019s provided you\u2019re ready and willing to jump over\ninevitable hurdles,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Climb the ladder if you must, whether at play or at work,\nexpand your horizons, go explore the world, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Happiness achieved, surely, but its staying power debatable,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ever hear the saying \u2018more money, more problems\u2019? Fake\nfriends, taxes, responsibilities and enemies? And suppose you came home full circle\nor found you a new setting, what happens when the honeymoon fades to oblivion?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Back to old familiar feelings of normalcy, what\u2019s new\nbecomes routine, hope you\u2019d planned for the next one after your promised land\nbecomes another beaten path, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Simply put the search is never-ending, a perpetual wild\ngoose-chase straight to the grave, wear it as a badge of honor if you like,\nconditional happiness seems a waste of life,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And here\u2019s a hard fact for ya, Playa, goals and dreams won\u2019t\nalways materialise,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What have you to fall back on if what you worked toward\nain\u2019t realised?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Forget about if and when, take a hard look at your now,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Surely you\u2019ll mine from the rubble precious jewels worth\ngrinning about,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Choice was always yours, might be difficult to wrap your\nhead around but sit down for a minute, ask yourself the following now;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Got friends and fam that\u2019ll ride and die for ya? A roof over\nyour head and food on the table?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ways and means to make a living, overcame battles that would\nhave broken many others?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Can still laugh over the silly and absurd and get emotional\nover songs? Got access to clean air while your heart smiles at the sight of\nchildren, cats and dogs?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Got something to look forward to? Both short and long term?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If the answer\u2019s \u2018yes\u2019 to a few then happiness becomes you,\nwhy keep yourself waiting?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you\u2019re lacking then by all means, leave that comfort zone\nand go on searching, whether or not you emerge victorious it won\u2019t mean shit if\nyou can\u2019t appreciate the process,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No one said it would be easy, no walk in the park if it\u2019s\nworthy,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Baptisms under fire are what breeds growth and development,\ncan\u2019t claim the prize without it, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But do take heart if it don\u2019t work out, you still would\u2019ve\nproven your mettle, you\u2019re better now than when you started,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For those reading this, wondering \u2018bout those from\nbeginnings wretched, not blessed like the rest, due to circumstances that sent\nthem to hell,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two ways to go about it, rise up from the ashes or\nself-destruct, happiness a byproduct of the former while no explanation\nnecessary for the other,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Choice is yours but if the latter prepare to work for it,\ndon\u2019t expect handouts or fair play because you drew the short straw from the\nfirst day,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A closed mouth won\u2019t get fed and layabouts go nowhere, do\naway with entitlement, you don\u2019t deserve what you don\u2019t earn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Woke to see another day, a clean slate on which to stamp\nyour name, another step to take on your road to something great,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Count your blessings daily, happiness will follow,\nguaranteed,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Remember to savour the journey before you attain that which\nyou seek,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Find the joy in your life, back yourself and to hell with\nthe rest, you\u2019re permitted to be your best self, the right ones will be with\nyou to the end, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
