Ain\u2019t no one\u2019s perfect, every one of us got flaws and\nweaknesses to compliment strengths and advantages, a wider gap for some than it\nis for others,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To put one\u2019s self out there is daunting, the fear of\nrejection is ever-present,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Though it comes with the territory one wouldn\u2019t seek the\nexperience willingly,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bring out your full potential, but you must return the\nfavour,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Others aren\u2019t faring any better due to defects in their\ncharacter,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In ways that turn off the population, in ways anti-social,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Conceit, a short fuse or not-so-pleasant views, can suck the\nenergy out the room, the types best left avoided \u2018lest they kill the mood,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some of \u2018em are aware and try to grow from it accordingly,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While others remain in denial, their egos be leaving \u2018em\nblinded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Which brings us back to Ms Monroe and what she was saying,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Endorsed by most when it comes to courting and choosing;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Often a justification when screening potential partners,\neven when choosing friends,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the surface it makes sense, why deny your true self just\nto please the rest?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Faking it ain\u2019t making it in this regard, they never\ndeserved you if they ain\u2019t checking for who you truly are,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But the sentiment has its limits, not immune from being\ndistorted,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Peep at \u2018em, twisting the meaning to justify their actions,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But there\u2019s no honour in manipulation, no glory in\ndisloyalty,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No one likes an egotist, let alone a raging narcissist,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Abusers are cowards in disguise, projecting pain and\nfeelings of inferiority to their so-called one and only, whom they\u2019re supposed\nto love tenderly,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shallowness ain\u2019t a virtue, neither is rudeness and being a\nprick,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Plenty of fish but no one\u2019s looking to snag a bitch or a\ndick,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
How dare you expect \u2018em to bend to your messed-up ways, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
How dare you treat \u2018em badly then expect \u2018em to stay,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If your love is true then you\u2019d make an effort to change, if\nnot they\u2019ll bounce and you\u2019ll have no one to blame,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Takes two to tango to make it work, a one-sided union ain\u2019t\nit,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Complement and respect one another, even in friendships, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Be willing to call out one another for bad behaviour, we all\nmess up from time to time,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Accountability is key, don\u2019t ever let that shit slide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By all means let the real ones embrace you, imperfections\nand all, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But it won\u2019t mean shit if only you\u2019re permitted to have\nflaws,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Don\u2019t play dumb with \u2018em, you won\u2019t get away with it,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No one decent and self-respecting would tolerate being\ntreated like shit,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You reap only what you sow, whether it\u2019s for what you\u2019re\nhustling or the energy you draw,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Continue to be a source of toxicity, boomerang effect will leave\nyou in a tizzy,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Make a change or forever be left wondering why you\u2019re\nrepelling \u2018em,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
